Category limits count broad trade categories, not every service inside them. Direct homeowner requests do not use the monthly open-marketplace offer allowance.
What counts as an offer?
The monthly allowance applies when a tradesperson submits an offer to an open marketplace job. Simply viewing a job does not use an allowance, and the same trader/job combination cannot consume it twice.
Direct requests are separate
When a homeowner chooses a searchable Plus or Pro profile and requests a quote directly, that opportunity does not consume the tradesperson’s open-marketplace offer allowance.
Categories stay meaningful
Plan limits apply to broad main trade categories. Services within an already-selected category can be updated separately, while main-category changes use a 14-day cooldown to discourage constant category switching purely to chase individual jobs.
BuildPair job payment fee
For jobs using BuildPair payments, the current BuildPair service fee is 1% of the accepted quote total after agreed deposit stages are excluded. BuildPair also recovers the actual Stripe processing fees recorded for that job. Under the current payment workflow, these amounts are deducted from the final tradesperson payout. The final release record shows the gross stage amount, deductions and net transfer.
Membership billing
Starter is £0 per month. The current monthly membership prices are £19.99 for BuildPair Plus and £29.99 for BuildPair Pro. Subscription purchases, renewals, plan changes and cancellations are handled through the BuildPair billing flow and Stripe. The applicable amount is shown before a paid subscription is confirmed.

Supported BuildPair payments are processed through Stripe. Users can also arrange payment privately, in which case BuildPair cannot process or manage that payment.
